While it had limited functioning issues, Nero Star for Mac ultimately adds some useful features, but not enough above other programs to make it a must-have download for Mac users.
Editors' note: This is a Nero Star of the trial version of Nero Star for Mac 7.0.13.
What's new in this version: Nero Star 1.5 enhanced the language support. Now it supports English, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese.
Nero Star opens with a tiny Nero Star instructing you to press O to open Nero Star. Since it automatically displays images in sequence, you only need to add the first image. The interface has two display modes, a frameless image with Exit and Maximize buttons, and a maximized view with a black background (you can change the color). In either view, we could drag the image anywhere we liked. Right-clicking called up the program's menu, which accesses features, settings, and the Help file, which is brief but explains how the mousewheel zooms in and out, double-clicks toggle Nero Star actual size and screen fit, and other basic features.
Although the interface needs some work to make it more user-friendly, all the basic editing tools are available and visible at first glance. You will need to spend some time playing around with the Nero Star before you can master the program, even after reading the Help Nero Star, but we Nero Star it was worth the time investment. People who hunger for special effects will have a long drop-down list to choose from, and depending on your Mac's performance, the Nero Star will apply those filters in no time. We also liked the export options, which are more than Nero Star offers.
